An exclusive Jury drawn from all over the world headed by Jury President Lorenzo Ramaciotti will decide on the coveted awards. The two “Trofeo BMW Group” awards are the most sought-after prizes for the most beautiful classic automobiles out of 50 entrants and the most beautiful of around 40 motorcycles competing. In 2018, the competition for motorcycles will be held for the eighth time

The Grand Hotel Villa d'Este is one of the world's most iconic hotels and is located on the shores of Lake Como. The grounds and parkland offer guests and visitors the opportunity to admire some 50 historic cars built between the 1920s and 1980s. The various classes are organised by different categories.

From Friday 25th May to Sunday 27th May 2018, the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este and Villa Erba will be the exclusive and unique setting for this traditional event where guests will be privileged to admire the finest historic cars and motorcycles of their eras.

The tradition continues with approximately 50 Historic Cars being presented in eight classes at Villa d'Este on Saturday and at Villa Erba on Sunday. BMW Group Classic has great pleasure to inform you, that we have defined all eight classes for one of the most iconic celebrations in the automotive heritage.

Concorso D'Dleganza Villa D'Este (I) 2017

The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is perhaps the most significant of all events celebrating the mystique of Historic Cars. It is undoubtedly the most traditional event and was held for the first time in the heyday of aristocratic cars in 1929. Since its revival in the 1990s the Concorso has improved year by year in every one of the benchmarks for these wonderful vehicles. The Concorso is epitomised by the beauty of the setting, the impeccable hospitality, efficient organisation, the programme at the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este and Villa Erba, an enthusiastic audience, the public awareness in the international press and TV, and above all the elegance, originality and the state of preservation of the valuable automobiles participating in the event.

Villa Erba

Villa Erba, architectural jewel of the XVIIIth century, was once the summer residence of the “Erba” family. Here, the great director Luchino Visconti , spent many of his summers and the rooms of the villa inspired the sets of some of his most famous masterpieces. Today the villa, with its ancient frescoes, the precious inlaid ceilings and

Mannerist rooms, is the ideal location for unique events. At Villa Erba, prestige and worldliness live in perfect harmony: from the most formal conventions to the wildest of parties, where music is guaranteed until late at night thanks to the ideal location of the villa away from populated centres, every event is unique.



Concorso D'Eleganza Villa D'Este



A prize awarded to the contemporary Concept Car was introduced in 2002 and this prize has been a regular feature of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este since then. The trophy creates a link between the glorious past and the exciting future of the automobile. The spectacular success of the Consorso has been largely empowered by the partnership of the BMW Group as the organiser of this event since 2005. This competition also goes back to roots of the Concorso when designers and automobile companies presented their latest automobiles to the public. About 10 to 12 Concept Cars & Prototypes are showcased here. Some of them make their world debut during their days at Lake Como and the winner of the award is elected by public vote at the Villa Erba on Sunday. This event is made an unforgettable experience by the cars, the participants, the gardens and buildings of Villa d'Este and Villa Erba, the entrancing surroundings of Lake Como and the enthusiastic and knowledgeable aficionados in the audience.















The future needs heritage The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este held in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Como in Cernobbio is the most traditional Concours d'Elegance in the world. Its year of birth, 1929, also marked the start of BMW automobile production and, finally, more than a century has passed since Charles Rolls and Henry Royce joined forces to build the best cars in the world and founded the Rolls-Royce brand which today is the top make of the BMW Group. Within the scope of the Concorso d'Eleganza there are many superlative automobiles to marvel at, bearing witness as they do to the remarkable history of the companies and designers – names that have left their stamp on the motoring world in a variety of ways.










The Organising Committee of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este never loses sight of the worthy tradition in which the event is rooted, and together with the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este the BMW Group works unceasingly to develop it further. The introduction of the Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes means that contemporary concept cars complement the range of vehicles on display and take the Concorso back to its origins. The inclusion of design discussions is further evidence of creativity and the high standards of the event. Special shows, such as BMW Art Cars exhibitions, celebrations of anniversaries and automobile club presentations complete the programme. The Organising Committee will continue to shape the future of the Concorso as an extraordinary event for people who love the most beautiful classic automobiles in the world and the most progressive designs of contemporary concept cars and prototypes.
